THE TRANSFER OF SERVICES FROM FULTON COUNTY CAN TAKE UP TO 2 YEARS

Known as The Transition Team the group will work with Fulton County officials to work out the transfer of services. The Team is a placeholder for the yet to be elected city officials. They will be charged with making critical decisions about the operations of the city such as which services the city will operate and those that will remain with Fulton County under a contract.

The Team will turnover the controls to the newly elected Mayor and City Council when the city begins operations on May 1.

The 24 month clock started when the election was certified by the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections on Tuesday, November 15.

Community members were invited to join one of 14 or so committees to assist with the Transition.

The new city Municipal Election for Mayor and seven Council seats will take place on March 21, 2017. Early voting will start February 17, 2017.
